Montessori and Christ-centered, in one classroom.
SWREA is a Christian Montessori elementary school in Kissimmee. Children learn by doing, at their own pace, in a calm mixed-age classroom, and their character is formed around faith. Here is what that means on an ordinary school day.

What Montessori is
Children learn by doing, not by sitting still
Montessori is a way of teaching developed by Dr. Maria Montessori more than a century ago and used in thousands of schools worldwide. Instead of a teacher lecturing a row of desks, children work with hands-on materials, choose meaningful work, and move on when they have truly mastered something.
Hands-on materials
Math, language and science are learned with physical materials first, so an abstract idea is something a child has already held in their hands.
Mixed-age classrooms
Kindergarten through fifth grade learn together, ages 5 to 10. Younger children learn by watching older ones; older children learn by teaching.
Their own pace
Each child works from an individual work plan. A child who is ready moves ahead, and a child who needs more time gets it without being labelled behind.
A long, quiet work cycle
Mornings are an uninterrupted block of focused work, without bells breaking concentration every forty-five minutes.
Why Christ-centered
Faith shapes the whole day, not one class
Montessori already treats every child with dignity and teaches care for others. Our faith gives that a foundation: every child is made in God's image and has a God-given potential to rise to.

Biblically grounded character
Honesty, kindness, responsibility and service are taught and practised every day, alongside academics.
Uncommon in Kissimmee
Most Christian schools nearby teach from textbook programs such as Abeka or BJU, and the Montessori schools nearby are secular. SWREA brings the two together.
Families of every background
We are a Christian school that welcomes families wherever they are in their own faith.
What they learn
A full K-5 curriculum, taught the Montessori way
Reading, writing and mathematics are the core of every day. Around them, our Research Institute of Planet Earth ties history, science, geography, art and language into one long investigation that runs from kindergarten through fifth grade.
Twelve children to a teacher
Small enough that the teacher knows exactly where each child is in every subject.
American Montessori Society member
SWREA is a member school of the American Montessori Society.
Free for most Florida families
Tuition is $8,000, and the average Step Up For Students scholarship covers all of it.
Questions Parents Ask
- What is a Christian Montessori school?
- A school that teaches with the Montessori method (hands-on materials, mixed ages, children working at their own pace) and forms character around the Christian faith. SWREA is a Christ-centered Montessori school for kindergarten through fifth grade in Kissimmee.
- Is Montessori only for preschool?
- No. Montessori was designed for children from birth through adolescence. SWREA teaches the elementary years, kindergarten through fifth grade.
- How much does a Montessori school cost in Kissimmee?
- Private Montessori elementary tuition in the Kissimmee and Celebration area runs from about $10,000 to $13,900 a year for 2026-27, plus fees. SWREA's tuition is $8,000, which the average Step Up scholarship covers in full.
- Can my child switch to Montessori from a traditional school?
- Yes. Children join at every grade. Because work is individual, a new student starts from where they are rather than where the class is.

More about life at SWREA
Kindness & leadership
Every child is known by name and adults are always close. Children learn to work in groups, solve problems together and look out for one another, and older students lead younger ones. Bullying has very little room to grow here.
English & Spanish
Spanish is part of every day, in morning meeting, stories and the calendar, not a once-a-week class. Children from English-speaking homes pick it up naturally, Spanish-speaking children grow their English, and families can talk to us in either language.
Transportation
SWREA has partnered with a local student transportation organization that can help get your child to and from school. If drop-off or pick-up is the hard part, call the office and we will walk you through it.
