What They Learn
The Research Institute of Planet Earth.
Running across Kindergarten through 5th grade, one long investigation pulls History, Science, Geography, Art, Archaeology and Language together. Students work from guiding questions, add their own, and record answers in their notebooks.
Social Studies
How is Earth divided and who lives where? Who makes the rules and the law? What does the money look like?
Science
What are the seasons and how long do they last? Where do our resources and energy come from?
Lifestyle
Where and how do we get our food? How do living structures and location represent economic conditions?
Media & Arts
How do people reach each other, and with what tools? What instruments are used, and what are the different ways to represent art?
From 2nd grade, students build a world of their own from the same questions: its geography, population, flag, laws and government. They may draw it, write it, or construct it in Minecraft or Roblox.

We match your scholarship in EMA and the state invoices the school. Nothing passes through your bank account.
Worried it will not come through before school starts?
We never penalize a family for a Step Up timing delay. Your child starts on day one and we route the scholarship once it is approved. No family is turned away over state-side paperwork.

We opened with room for twenty-four children across all six grades, four to a year. That is small on purpose: it is how a teacher knows every child, and it is why the first families here help shape what this school becomes. This board shows exactly where we are today.

We mirror the Osceola County School District calendar, with four faith observances added and the year extended to June 2 to preserve a full 180 instructional days.

- Is there a free Montessori school near me in Kissimmee?
- For most Florida families, yes. Tuition is $8,000 a year and the average Step Up For Students award covers the full amount, so most scholarship families pay $0 out of pocket. Step Up is a state-funded scholarship open to every K-12 Florida resident, not a discount, a coupon or a payment plan. We complete the scholarship application alongside your school application.
- How much does Montessori school cost in Kissimmee?
- Tuition is $8,000 per student for the 2026-2027 year. Award amounts are set by the Florida Legislature each year and vary by grade level and county, so your exact figure comes from Step Up rather than from us. If an award lands below tuition, the difference is spread across ten monthly payments and we tell you the number before you enroll.
- Do we have to attend church to enroll?
- No. There is no requirement to attend church, hold membership anywhere, or share any particular belief, and none of that affects admission, placement, or how your child is treated. The Morning Meeting does open with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, and character is taught alongside academics.
- What grades do you offer? Do you have pre-K or VPK?
- Kindergarten through 5th grade only, ages 5 to 10, in mixed-age Montessori classrooms. We do not offer preschool, pre-K or VPK. If your child turns 5 by September 1, kindergarten is the right entry point. The Founding Class for the 2026-2027 year is capped at 24 students across all six grade levels.
- Where in Kissimmee is the school located?
- 1904 Michigan Avenue, Kissimmee, FL 34744, in Osceola County. Families commute from Kissimmee, St. Cloud, Poinciana, Celebration, Buenaventura Lakes and Campbell.
- What are the school hours?
- 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The first day of the 2026-2027 year is Monday, August 10, 2026 and the last day is Wednesday, June 2, 2027.
- Is Spanish taught at the school?
- Spanish is integrated through every day rather than taught once a week. Greetings, songs, stories, the calendar and celebrations happen in both languages, and by spring students are writing short journal entries in English and Spanish.
- Which Step Up scholarships does SWREA accept?
- All three: FES-EO (Family Empowerment Scholarship, Educational Options), FTC (Florida Tax Credit Scholarship), and FES-UA (Family Empowerment Scholarship, Unique Abilities, for students with qualifying diagnoses). FES-EO and FTC average about $8,000; FES-UA averages about $10,000.
- What if my scholarship is not approved before school starts?
- Your child starts on day one regardless. We never penalize a family for a Step Up timing delay and route the scholarship once it is approved. No family is turned away over state-side paperwork.
