Still We Rise Excellence Academy operates this website. This policy explains what we collect through it, why, and who else sees it. Student and family records held by the school once a child is enrolled are governed separately by the school's records policies, which you will receive during enrollment.
Information you give us
Our admissions form asks for the parent or guardian's name, email address, phone number and mailing address, plus the first and last name and grade level of each student you wish to enroll. You may submit up to eight students in one application. If you contact us by phone or email, we keep what you tell us so we can respond.
Information collected automatically
Our host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested, which are used to operate and secure the site. We also measure aggregate traffic and page performance. That measurement is cookieless and does not build a profile of you, follow you across other websites, or identify you individually.
Services that receive your data
We name these rather than saying "third parties", because you have a right to know who is actually involved:
- Formspree receives and forwards submissions from our admissions form to the school office.
- Vercel hosts the site and provides the cookieless traffic and performance measurement described above.
- Jotform hosts our Open House registration and Fall enrollment forms. Those open on Jotform's own site and are covered by their policy as well as this one.
- YouTube hosts our welcome video. It is embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and loads nothing until you press play, so simply viewing the page sends nothing to YouTube.
- Google Workspace provides the school's email, so correspondence with the office is stored there.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
Scholarship applications
If you pursue a Step Up For Students scholarship, you apply to Step Up directly and they decide your award. Once you tell us you have been approved, we confirm and route your scholarship through the state's system so that funds reach the school. Information you provide to Step Up is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.
Children's information
This site is written for parents and guardians, not for children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from a child. The only information we hold about a child through this website is what a parent or guardian enters on the admissions form, which is their name and grade level. If you believe a child has submitted information to us directly, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies
We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. Our traffic measurement is cookieless. Some cookies may be set by YouTube if, and only if, you choose to play the welcome video.
How long we keep it
We keep applications for as long as needed to make an admissions decision and, where a student enrolls, for as long as the school's records policies require. If your child does not enroll and you would like your application removed, ask us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email or call the office using the details below and we will respond. There is no cost.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to submitted applications is limited to staff who need it for admissions. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive documents such as medical or financial records through the website form. Call the office and we will arrange a secure method.
Changes to this policy
If we add or change a service that handles your data, we update this page and the date at the top of it.
